Sycamore Bend Estate Fairytale

Sycamore Bend Estate is a historic southern style wedding and event venue that hosted a styled shoot unlike any other we have had the chance to design flowers for! A true married couple, not models, not paid hired, just a family joined together with a group of professional wedding vendors to style a day, that one could say was an intimate second chance at a wedding like experience. Styled shoots and vowel renewals allow opportunities like this to experience a special union in a totally different way that your original wedding was not. An opportunity to reunite with a lovely dress and suit, beautiful flowers, delicious cake, professional hair and makeup, and did we say "horses?"

Sycamore Bend is a breathtaking venue with an 1818 farmhouse, horse pasture, and manicured fields. A fairy tale atmosphere that offers a serene and private escape from the city, yet tucked in an accessible lot with beautiful mature live oak trees that are heavily draped with spanish moss, that line the driveway, in the Middle Sound Loop area of Wilmington, NC. 

Rachel and Tony and two young children, join in the celebration, together with an outstanding team of vendors. Hunter with Tide and Toast Party Company, our premier Wilmington Wedding planner curated a team of professionals noted below. We were so thrilled to have had the opportunity to design the beautiful wedding flowers.

Rachel held a medium luxe exotic waterfall cascade wedding bouquet of white orchids, tulips, roses and hydrangea. The mix combines the structured elegance of orchids with the soft romance of roses and tulips, and for a venue like Sycamore Bend Estates, this style looks incredible against the backdrop of the live oaks, as the long lines of the bouquet mimic the natural "weeping" effect of the spanish moss. Tony and son wore a classic lapel boutonniere, and their darling daughter, a sweet flower crown. The head table was adorned with white hydrangeas, tulips and roses, with hurricane candles, which made for an elegant setting along the pasture side. 

Mountain Meandering captured the beauty of Rachel and Tony's Family on the cultivated historic estate and all the local business contributions, from dresses and suits from Camille's of Wilmington, Cakes by Rach Bakes Cakes, Makeup by Andrea Kelly with Makeup Majique, Taylor Made Transportation with the Austin FX3 vintage car, and yours truly, The Pearl and the Petal for wedding flowers, and lastly, our outstanding organizer and wedding planner Hunter with Tide and Toast.
